Sappe PCL teamed up with Toyox Trading (Thailand) Co. Ltd. in supporting society during the COVID-19 crisis by providing 2,700 kilograms of paper boxes and cartons to SCG Packaging to make recycled paper beds. SCGP has initiated a project to use cardboards from paper boxes and cartons as the main recycled material in producing paper beds for field hospitals.

SAPPE Chairman of Executive Committee, Mr. Adisak Ruckariyaphong, said the company is committed to ‘better people’s lives through our innovative spirit,” and the dedication increases during the COVID-19 crisis. “We have to put our utmost efforts to help people during this crisis,” he said.

Mr. Adisak, who is also advisor to the company’s panel on sustainability, added that SAPPE has been donating its products to many medical units and communities since the beginning of the outbreak and decided to collaborate with Toyox Trading (Thailand) to provide paper boxes to SCGP. The two donors are delighted to be part of the aid for COVID-19 patients and medical staff, according to Mr. Adisak.

The SCGP paper bed is an innovation which uses recycled paper to produce light-weight beds. The beds can be easily installed and can hold up to 100 kilograms in a flat position.

SCGP is the pioneers in paper beds for field hospitals as the demand for beds has increased due to a surge in COVID-19 cases. SAPPE, therefore, would like to give moral support to this project to help Thais overcome the challenge together.
